Your Data is YOURS

At meyoume, we believe your health data belongs to you. We don't sell your information. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't use it for anything except making your experience better.

What We Collect

To provide personalized coaching and tracking, we collect:

  • Profile Information: Name, email address, age, goals (weight loss, muscle gain, maintenance)
  • Health Data: Weight, height, daily calorie goal, macronutrient preferences
  • Nutrition Data: Meals logged, food items, calories, macros (protein, carbs, fats)
  • Activity Data: Exercises, workouts, calories burned, water intake
  • Fasting Data: Fasting windows, eating schedules
  • Wellness Data: Mood check-ins, journal entries
  • AI Conversations: Messages exchanged with your AI coach
  • Photos & Voice: Food photos you scan, optional progress photos, and voice clips you record to log food or talk to Coach
  • Your Story: The answers you give during onboarding (why now, what's worked before, how you like to be coached) so Coach can tailor your plan
  • Purchases: Your subscription status (we never see your card details; Apple handles payment)
  • App Preferences: Vibe color selection, measurement system, notification settings

How We Use Your Data

We use your information ONLY to:

  • Provide personalized AI coaching and recommendations
  • Track your nutrition, fitness, and wellness progress
  • Calculate calories, macros, and provide insights
  • Generate charts and visualizations of your data
  • Sync your data across your devices
  • Improve app features and user experience

We do NOT:

  • Sell your data to anyone
  • Share your data with advertisers
  • Use your data for marketing to third parties
  • Train AI models for other companies

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use Supabase (a secure, SOC 2 compliant backend) to store your information.

Health data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. We implement strict access controls to ensure only you can access your data.

AI & Machine Learning

meyoume uses third-party AI providers to power Coach. Before any of your data is sent to an AI provider, the app asks for your permission. If you say no, nothing is sent and AI features stay off.

  • Anthropic (Claude): processes your chat messages, food photos you scan, and food descriptions you type, to answer you and estimate nutrition
  • OpenAI (Whisper): converts voice clips you record into text
  • We include only the context Coach needs (for example your goals, today's logs, and your story answers) to personalize responses
  • These providers process data on our behalf and do not use it to train their models under their API terms
  • We never send your email, password, payment details, or Apple Health data to AI providers
  • Conversations are stored securely in your account for continuity, and you can delete them at any time

Analytics & Diagnostics

We collect basic analytics to improve the app:

  • Usage Analytics: Which features you use, screen views, session duration
  • Performance Data: App crashes, loading times, errors
  • Device Information: iOS version, device model (for compatibility)

This data is used only to keep the app working and to improve it. It is never used to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and never sold.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase: Database and authentication (SOC 2 compliant)
  • Anthropic: AI coaching, food photo and text nutrition estimates
  • OpenAI: voice-to-text transcription
  • RevenueCat: subscription status (payments are handled by Apple)
  • PostHog: product analytics (feature usage, no advertising)
  • Expo: app updates and push notification delivery

Each service has their own privacy policy and security standards. We only work with providers who meet strict privacy and security requirements.

Apple HealthKit Integration

If you choose to connect Apple Health, meyoume can read the following data:

  • Active Calories Burned: Daily calories burned from activity
  • Step Count: Total steps walked each day
  • Workout Data: Exercise type, duration, and calories burned

How we use HealthKit data:

  • Display your activity and workout information in the app
  • Provide accurate calorie tracking by combining diet and exercise data
  • Give you a complete picture of your daily health metrics

Important privacy protections:

  • HealthKit data is processed locally on your device
  • We do NOT store raw HealthKit data on our servers
  • HealthKit data is NEVER shared with third parties
  • HealthKit data is NEVER used for advertising or marketing
  • You can disconnect Apple Health at any time in Settings

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

  • Access: View all data we have about you
  • Export: Download your data in a portable format
  • Delete: Permanently delete your account and all associated data
  • Correct: Update any incorrect information
  • Opt-out: Disable analytics or specific features

Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

  • All personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days
  • Anonymized analytics may be retained for product improvement
  • Legal or regulatory data may be retained as required by law

Children's Privacy

meyoume is intended for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we discover we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
